Perth Visit August 2003 - Page 1

I had to head back to Perth for a work visit, so of course I managed to scam it so I arrived for the weekend. Spent most of Saturday checking out peoples' workshops and sheds and on Sunday I headed down to the Guildford Hotel for their monthly Cruise-In.

It was a great weekend and it was good to catch up with all of my old friends again and to see what had been happening since I had last visited. It was good to see that there had been plenty happening, but I always knew Perth was a happening place anyway. :)

The day started out with an early (8am) breakfast at Craig Clements' shop. Now you wouldn't know it from looking, but that's actually a furniture making shop, not a mechanic's workshop.

Here you can see Craig about to feed the masses with the gourmet snaggers that he picked up frmo the local meat emporium. I think he said they were "Lips and a**hole flavoured", but I'm not sure.

Now don't get me wrong. I wasn't just there for the free snaggers and cups of tea, I actually had a job to do... sorta. Craig is building this T Sedan and I wanted to take some photos of it in the hope it would be used in Australian Street Rodding Magazine. I'm happy to say it was.
Here's a shot of one of the hungry customers. You can also see in this shot that Craig has actually scored himself a pretty tidy body. Not bad for car that's almost 80 years old.

Me trying to cover all of the angles. As you can see, the trim is just about done.

Craig prefers to use all Ford parts. Like the General Motors Ford V6 engine he's putting in it. ;)

Here's some of the freeloading crowd marvelling at my photographic mastery that was my Hot Rod Nationals coverage.

It looks like the King of Trophy Hunters is advising everyone of correct dipstick polishing technique. Notice how attentive everyone is, the guy is a dead set genius.
Here's Craig's other car. You can't really see it in the pic, but it's painted a gay purple and has gay glittery flames all over it... but he's not gay... not really. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)
This little roadster used to be ALL pink. It's amazing what a little imagination and a new set of wheels will do.

Here's a shot from the front. This little roadster has now gone to a new owner, but that's OK as it has been replaced with ANOTHER roadster which is also going to get the TBO touch.

** for those not in the know, TBO is "The Bearded One"
